FOWLERVILLE, Mich., Oct. 14 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Christian Resources International (CRI) road trip collected 1024 pounds of favorite books as well as $1024 for shipping costs. In response to a challenge to donate a favorite book, people at 11 pit stops met the trailer to give their special book, $1 for shipping and a personal note to the recipient.

The trailer traveled 769 miles to 10 locations in Michigan and one in Ohio, collecting books so that people in the flood-ravaged Philippines could benefit from the Christian resources. The CRI Road Trip made stops at Christian bookstores, churches, schools and various other places. To read stories about the trip go to www.criroadtrip.com.

Fred Palmerton, executive director of CRI said, "I was so excited to see all the people bringing such a personal gift that will have a personal affect on someone very far away."

These resources will now make their way from Michigan to the Philippines where missionaries and national pastors can use them to impact lives where they are working.

This road trip is the first in a new Road Trip program where, several times throughout the year, CRI staff will take a road trip with a trailer to collect favorite books. The Road Trip program allows people to be an integral part of equipping Christians around the world with much-needed Bibles and Christian books.

CRI is a ministry dedicated to helping people reach out and share Christian literature with people around the world.
