Evangelist Alveda King: The Reconciled Church Responds to Charlottesville's Macedonian Call

Contact: Leslie Palma, 732-757-9087

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Nov. 30, 2017 /Christian Newswire/ -- The following is submitted by evangelist Alveda King:

And a vision appeared to Paul in the night: a man of Macedonia was standing there, urging him and saying, "Come over to Macedonia and help us." Acts 16:9

Greetings, my brothers and sisters of faith. May God bless you as you gather on December 2, to pray for peace and racial healing, not only for Charlottesville, but for our nation and the world.

Our friend and brother in Christ Bishop Harry Jackson has heard and responded to your clarion call and has alerted the Reconciled Church with the "urgency of now." We join you now in faith, love and corresponding action as you pray and strategize from your base in Charlottesville.

To the concerned ministers and faith community of Charlottesville who have called for prayer and action to end all violence and racial injustice, we stand with you today. You have issued a Macedonian Call to the Christian community to gather for Healing4Charlottesville, a day of prayer and repentance after the tragic events of August 12 made the city a symbol of racial violence. We stand with you.

As the One Blood/One Human Race of Acts 17:26, we agree that repentance and forgiveness together are keys to the healing we all need. May God's Word bring love, truth, redemption and light to Charlottesville and indeed our hurting world.

God bless you today and always as you gather to march, pray, repent, forgive and worship together.
