WICHITA, Kans., Mar. 13 /Christian Newswire/ -- Jury selection will begin on Monday, March 16 with the trial set to begin on Monday, March 23 at the Sedgwick County Courthouse in Wichita.

George Tiller, the most infamous abortionist in America, is facing 19 criminal charges for performing late-term abortions in violation of Kansas law.

The Christian Defense Coalition, Operation Rescue and other pro-life organizations will be holding daily prayer vigils at the courthouse and evening prayer vigils at local churches the entire time the jury selection and trial is taking place.

The vigils will be held 8:00 A.M. in front of the Sedgwick County Courthouse every day proceedings are taking place and 7:00 P.M. in local churches.

The courthouse is located at 510 N. Main St. in downtown Wichita.

The groups intend to give a national call to the faith and pro-life community, along with national leaders, to come pray in Wichita once the trial begins.

If convicted, George Tiller will no longer be able to perform abortions and it will have a major impact on the pro-life movement across America.

The conviction of George Tiller is directly related to a public covenant and prayer over 70 local pastors signed in August of 1991 in which they stated:

"We cannot be silent and we will not be silent as long as the abortion industry continues the premeditated killing of children.

"We will continue to speak out with urgency until the killing of children is outlawed and Wichita becomes an abortion-free city."

With the conviction of George Tiller that nearly 20 year old prayer will become a reality.
