Sweeting Named Fellow of the Centennial Institute at CCU

ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 21, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- Dr. Don Sweeting, president of Reformed Theological Seminary's Orlando campus, and former pastor of Cherry Creek Presbyterian Church in the Denver area (12 years), was just named a fellow of the Centennial Institute in Colorado. This institute is a think tank affiliated with Colorado Christian University (CCU) that sponsors research, events and publications to enhance understanding of the most important issues relating to faith, family and freedom facing the state of Colorado and our nation.

The institute is chaired by William Armstrong, president of CCU and former US Senator, and is directed by John Andrews, former president of the Colorado Senate and former presidential speech writer.

Centennial Institute fellows serve as policy advisory board members in support of the institute's mission and CCU's strategic objectives. They assist with writing, speaking, research, teaching, outreach, and strategic planning. Each fellow has a major area of policy specialization. Sweeting will serve as fellow in contemporary thought.

Sweeting has earned degrees from Oxford University (masters and bachelors) and a Ph.D. from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Trinity International University. He has authored several books and serves on the boards for both the National Association of Evangelicals and Colorado Christian University. He also serves on the executive committee of the Fellowship of Evangelical Seminary Presidents.
