Gospel Music Channel Offers a Feast for Thanksgiving; 'Reflections' and 'Hometown' on the Menu

ATLANTA, Nov. 14 /Christian Newswire/ -- As families gather to celebrate Thanksgiving, the Gospel Music Channel will celebrate the family holiday with a programming menu that reveals the heart, soul and home of Christian and gospel artists and their music.

 

Thanksgiving morning starts with an all-day Faith & Fame Marathon beginning at 7 a.m. (ET). Faith & Fame is GMC's popular original series featuring music's biggest artists sharing their personal stories of gratitude for the faith and family that has inspired their music and their success. The Faith & Fame Marathon features profiles of 17 artists throughout the day including John Tesh, Natalie Grant, Nicole C. Mullen, Walter Hawkins, Blind Boys of Alabama, Shirley Caesar, Charlie Daniels, The Gatlin Brothers, Michael W. Smith, Third Day and Yolanda Adams.

 

Book-ending the Faith & Fame Marathon is the latest series episode, Faith & Fame: Steven Curtis Chapman (7:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 7:00 p.m. ET). The show features candid interviews with the multiple Dove and Grammy Award winner who shares never before told stories, along with wife Mary Beth, sons Caleb and Will, brother Herb and some of his label and management family. Chapman discusses the joys and struggles of a successful 20 year musical journey. The show features music performance clips and videos of Chapman performing some of his classic songs like "His Strength Is Perfect," "The Great Adventure," "Dive" and Chapman reveals new stories about the people and experiences that not only inspired his music but shaped and sharpened his faith.

 

Thanksgiving night, Gospel Music Channel presents a Hometown Gospel Mini-Marathon hitting the road at 8 p.m. (ET/PT) and traveling to Detroit, Chicago and Atlanta for a look at the cities' historic music roots as well as today's vibrant music scene and the artists who call those cities home.

 

Hometown Gospel makes its first stop in Detroit (8:00 p.m., 11:00 p.m. ET/PT) as host J. Moss visits with The Clark Sisters, Mom & Pop Winans, Fred Hammond and other Detroit bred artists. Hometown Gospel: Chicago (9:00 p.m., Midnight ET/PT) features host Joann Rosario, Barlow Girl, Smokie Norful, Superchic[k] and other artists. Hometown Gospel then heads to Atlanta (10:00 p.m. 1:00 a.m. ET/PT) as Byron Cage hosts and visits with Casting Crowns, Dorothy Norwood, Eva Mae LeFevre, Dottie Peoples, Family Force Five and more.
