Christian Authors Say Susan B. Anthony List Endorsing Wrong Pro-Life Candidate

MEDIA ADVISORY, March 31 /Christian Newswire/ -- In a press release (www.christiannewswire.com/news/7004613489.html) yesterday the Susan B. Anthony (SBA) List endorsed Sue Lowden for US Senate in Nevada. President and Chairman of the Board Marjorie Dannenfelser said "Sue Lowden combines everything we are looking for: an articulate female spokesman with the courage to back it up with advocacy for the unborn and their mothers."

Gregg Jackson, blogger (www.greggjackson.com) and author of "Conservative Comebacks to Liberal Lies", and David Jeffers, blogger (www.saltandlightblog.com) and author of "Understanding Evangelicals: A Guide to Jesusland", are not surprised that the SBA List is once again backing a faux conservative and misleading its members.

Jackson and Jeffers are amazed that the SBA List would consider Lowden as pro-life just because "she championed a parental notification bill through committee to the floor of the Nevada State Senate." What SBA List fails to consider is that the law does not stop the murder of unborn babies, at least not if parents give their consent. Jeffers asks, "Is that really pro-life?"

What amazes these conservative pundits even more is that the SBA List is either unaware of Mrs. Lowden's flip-flop on abortion or is purposely keeping it from its members. Las Vegas Sun reporter Jon Ralston writes that Lowden "is easily convicted of not one, but perhaps two acts of political convenience, tacking left when it was advantageous and then shifting right when the race called for it." (www.lasvegassun.com/news/2009/dec/16/lowdens-evolving-views-abortion/)

Jackson and Jeffers can't help but wonder if the SBA List would be embarrassed to know that the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) is already preparing flip-flop news releases about Mrs. Lowden. Committee Communications Director Eric Schultz says, "Sue Lowden was pro-choice at a time when it was politically convenient for her to be so, but now locked in a tight primary battle, she's decided to flip-flop and move to the right." (www.dscc.org/news?type=press_release&press_release_KEY=1006)

Jackson and Jeffers are already imagining the type of commercials Harry Reid and the DSCC will be running against Sue Lowden. Jeffers says, "One thing for sure is that Harry Reid or the DSCC could never run a flip-flop commercial about Sharron Angle."

As Jackson said in an email to Jeffers, "Absolutely shameful how little faith these so called 'Christian' 'pro-life' organizations possess. Three thousand years ago, they would have endorsed Goliath over David. After all, David was not 'electable.' We must fully expose these counterfeit organizations and break ranks with them."

It is obvious to these two conservative pundits that Sue Lowden is not "exactly the type of authentic pro-life candidate Americans are hungry for" and it proves that the SBA List is clearly out of touch with the new political landscape.

"We are publicly calling on the SBA List to retract their endorsement of Sue Lowden and endorse Sharron Angle, who 'is exactly the type of authentic pro-life candidate Americans are hungry for,'" added Jackson and Jeffers.
