The social, political and economic crisis facing Americans is only a symptom of a far more critical threat to God's People here and around the world. Many of God's people have become ensnared in worldliness and lethargy. Terrible damage has been done to godly being and doing in the church and worse damage looms as a threat.
The Tea Party success encourages me because is shows what gathered together common people can accomplish when they are fired up for a common cause. It shows the power of spontaneous action motivated by a threat. It shows very little supervision and management is needed for motivated people to work together. Best of all, it shows the light of knowing Jesus burns brightly in multitudes of Americans.
We can be and do to help return Christians to godliness and vitality. Each one of us who is gathered together in the Messiah's body will have to do his or her share, working together with one another for the long haul. Messiah Jesus builds His body as we get to being and doing.
Let us tell the truth with love and in every way grow up into Him who is the Head -- Christ. He makes the whole body fit together, unites it by every contact with its support, and to the extent that each part is working He makes the body grow and builds it up in love. Ephesians 4:16
Christ Jesus gives us many resources to liberate, restore and rebuild. His way is to confront evil, present liberation from the tyranny of darkness and enable us to walk in the light as He is in the light. We can effectively help the weak and hurting by walking in the light and helping those in the clutches of darkness one by one.
Only God can change hearts. The government can't do what God has called His saints to do, especially for the household of faith. Messiah Jesus leads us to do for one another, not leave it up to hired help or tax supported government programs.
