SOMERSET, N.J., Jan. 10, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- Saint Peters Healthcare System (St. Peter's) will be joining First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens (FBCLG) in fellowship on Sunday, January 12 at the 11 a.m. service. St. Peter's and FBCLG will celebrate their partnership and other areas of cooperation. Rev. Dr. DeForest B. Soaries, Jr., Senior Pastor of FBCLG, will recognize and award St. Peter's during the service for their continuous support and sponsorship of church and community events.

The relationship between St. Peter's and FBCLG started with an agreement between First Baptist Community Development Corporation, now known as Central Jersey Community Development Corporation (CJCDC) under the leadership of Dr. Soaries. "St. Peter's has proudly partnered with the First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens on numerous programs and initiatives that have greatly benefited the health and well-being of the First Baptist congregation and the citizens of Somerset," said Philip Hartman, hospital spokesman. "We are deeply honored to receive this recognition."

The friendship has been forged by St. Peter's establishment of the Family Health Center at 123 How Lane; the provision of the first faith-based mental health seminar in the area; their healthcare system is responsible for the cooperation with Harvest of Hope Family Services Network Inc., an organization that supports foster care and adoptive services in Somerset/Franklin Township; St. Peter's partnership with First Baptist to train community volunteers as part of the Affordable Care Act registration process; the delivery of health education to senior citizens in Franklin Township; and the many health screenings to be provided by St. Peter's to residents at the DeForest B. Soaries Jr. Residences in Somerset.

Join in the celebration as First Baptist Church of Lincoln Gardens pays homage to St. Peter's Healthcare System Sunday, January 12 at 11 a.m. The church is located at 771 Somerset St., Somerset, New Jersey 08873. All are encouraged to join.
