BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Sept. 6, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- Legendary singer, actor and member of the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, Pat Boone, performed and spoke today at a fundraiser for Child Evangelism Fellowship, the largest Christian ministry to children in the world. Mr. Boone thrilled the audience with some of his most popular hits and endorsed the support of the ministry which he believes is critical for the advancement of the Gospel among children. After his remarks, Mr. Reese Kauffman, president of CEF, described CEF outreach to the greater Los Angeles area and around the world. The event which was held in the Beverly Wilshire Hotel's historic ballroom, Le Grand Trianon, was hosted by CEF International Headquarters for the benefit of eight local CEF chapters in southern California and the international outreach of CEF.

Child Evangelism Fellowship has a presence in 180 countries. Last year alone, CEF workers shared the gospel with 12.1 million children around the world. The ministry ran 42,312 Bible clubs, called Good News Clubs, and trained over 250,000 teachers worldwide.

"Our goal," said Mr. Kauffman in reference to the CEF slogan, "is 'Every Child, Every Nation, Every Day.' In other words, we want to reach every child in every nation with the hope and prayer that they will commit to Christ and sustain their faith with the habit of reading the Word of God every day." CEF is working to establish a presence in every nation by 2017. By its count it has only 28 nations and territories to go.
