GRANDVIEW, Mo., Dec. 22, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- GOD TV has a joyful line-up of holiday programming during December culminating with 'Christmas with GOD TV' on December 24 and 25. This is an extraordinary family event recorded LIVE in Cape Town earlier this month with best loved carols and Christmas songs led by some of South Africa's leading musicians.
Christmas with GOD TV will air on the GOD Channel at 9pm (EST) on Christmas Eve and at 2pm on Christmas Day. Featuring the accomplished Cape Philharmonic Orchestra, the broadcast includes carols like Silent Night, Jingle Bells and Oh Holy Night, given a fresh twist with hints of jazz, soul and R&B. Guest artists include several of South-Africa's leading artists and musicians and GOD TV's co-founder and CEO, Rory Alec brings Christmas greetings to viewers.
"Our Christmas concert in Cape Town blessed all who attended and will touch even more lives when it is broadcast globally on the GOD Channel," said Rory Alec. "This is the first time we've done a Christmas production on a large scale and judging from the response from the audience, viewers are going to love it!"
Other holiday programming on the GOD Channel includes the movies 'The Perfect Gift' and 'A Christmas Snow.' "What if the world threw you a birthday party... and you weren't invited?" is the question asked by The Perfect Gift, which reminds the world of the true meaning of Christmas. A Christmas Snow is beautiful story about a woman who finds genuine happiness after being snowed in with two people who help her to rediscover the reason for celebration.
Chuck Missler presents fascinating insights on the Nativity in 'The Christmas Story' and a special holiday edition of Behind the Screens focuses on some of GOD TV's highlights over the past year, including Rory Alec's trip to Iraq, Germany and New Zealand.
'A Skaggs Family Christmas' will be aired on Christmas Day at 9pm (EST), a festive celebration giving a country music edge to popular carols, with added Bluegrass sounds. Started as a family sing-a-long, which turned into a full-blown studio recording, the broadcast features Ricky Skaggs and his Grammy award-winning band Kentucky Thunder. Ricky Skaggs won entertainer of the Year at the recent Inspirational Country Music Awards and this broadcast is his global premier on a Christian network.
"Christmas is a time for families to come together and an ideal opportunity for our viewers to share the love of Christ with family and friends as they watch the GOD Channel," said GOD TV co-founder and Director of Television, Wendy Alec. "We also have some great New Year's programming, with music concerts especially for young adults, and challenging our viewers to fulfill all God has for their lives in 2012."
GOD TV's New Year's schedule includes the 'onething' Conference from the International House of Prayer in Kansas City with Mike Bickle; The Ramp with Karen Wheaton filled with worship, teaching and prayer; The KICC Watchnight Service, London's biggest Christian New Year Eve's gathering and Liberty Winterfest from Liberty University in Virginia, with top musical talent and speakers.
