WASHINGTON, March 3 /Christian Newswire/ -- A new poll to be released Thursday surveyed voters in key districts in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Indiana to weigh the importance of abortion funding prohibitions in the final healthcare bill and what a vote for legislation that includes such funding would mean for representatives in those districts in November.  The Susan B. Anthony List, joined by the polling company, inc.'s Kellyanne Conway, will brief reporters on the findings during a media conference call Thursday.

The poll surveyed congressional districts represented by pro-life Democrats who voted for the Stupak Amendment, which prohibited abortion funding in the House healthcare bill.  These Democrats, who face pressure from party leadership to vote in favor of a final healthcare bill that lacks Stupak language, will be able to learn what their constituents think about abortion funding--and respond accordingly.

Respondents were asked whether they would "be more likely or less likely to vote for Congressman <NAME> if he votes for healthcare legislation that includes federal government funding of abortion."

"Votes have consequences," said Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of Susan B. Anthony List, "and representatives in Congress who ignore the will of their constituents do so at their own peril.  These poll results will drive our investment in the next wave of pro-life grassroots mobilization in the Midwest."
