SPRING GROVE, Va., Oct. 12, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- From coast to coast, members and volunteers of America Needs Fatima are launching a record-breaking number of Public Square Rosary Rallies. The rallies will celebrate the ninety-fourth anniversary of the Marian apparitions of Fatima, Portugal, and focus on the importance of prayer and conversion.

Rally locations by state are posted online here.

"The American dream has become a sort of nightmare because of so much sin," remarked Robert Ritchie, executive director of America Needs Fatima.

"Our culture is in turmoil. Society is really feeling the negative effects of abortion, same-sex 'marriage,' pornography, euthanasia, embryonic stem cell research, and terrorism," Ritchie said. "That's why so many people are turning to God and His Blessed Mother for courage and hope. The need for conversion, prayer and penance is more pressing today than it was in 1917 when Our Lady appeared to the three shepherd children, Jacinta, Francisco and Lucia."

In 7,515 locations, rally captains are gearing up for the Public Square Rosary Rallies, which will be held simultaneously on October 15, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. Everyone is welcome to attend the event sponsored by The American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP) and its America Needs Fatima campaign.

Rosary rallies are also scheduled in twenty additional countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Columbia, Croatia, India, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malta, Mexico, the Philippines, Poland, Spain, and Tanzania.

"Prayer is very powerful. I firmly believe that the holy rosary in particular is the key to restore society. It gives us the spiritual fortitude to follow God's law," said Mr. Ritchie. "Over 7,500 Public Square Rosary Rallies will certainly attract God's blessing on America and the world."
