Experts Offer Help for Religious Organizations as Employers in Key Areas

WINCHESTER, Va., Oct. 30, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- As Christ-centered organizations increasingly face critical employment questions in their day-to-day operations, ECFA will provide up-to-date information on employment laws in a one-hour webinar, "Three Key Employment Issues Facing Churches and Nonprofits," on Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. EST.
Expert information will be given on recent developments and strategic responses on religious employment rights, wise navigation of the maze of sexual orientation and gender identity employment developments and recent Equal Employment Opportunity Commission guidance on criminal background checks.

The webinar will be led by employment law experts, Patrick D. Purtill and Scott J. Ward. Purtill is an associate in the law firm of Gammon & Grange, P.C., in the Washington, D.C., suburb of McLean, Va. With 20 years of experience in government, nonprofit management and compliance, his practice concentrates on the law of religious and other nonprofit organizations, corporate law, state and federal lobbying compliance and preventive law.
Ward is a shareholder in the law firm of Gammon & Grange, P.C., where he codirects their litigation department.
