CHICAGO, Jan. 18 /Christian Newswire/ -- "For unborn babies facing abortion, "every day is January 22, 1973 -- the day their lives are exposed to legalized abortion," said Eric Scheidler of the Pro-Life Action League, announcing the League's "Marching Orders" campaign at the annual March for Life in Washington D.C. this year. "Pro-lifers must do all they can throughout the year to defend those babies' lives."
Scheidler and members of the Pro-Life Action League will pass out large "Marching Orders" cards to the pro-life marchers as they near the Capitol Building and Supreme Court at the end of the march route. The card declares, "God bless you! Today You Marched for Life," and then asks, "But what about tomorrow?" On the back is a list of specific things pro-lifers can do to continue their witness for life tomorrow and throughout the year with help from the League, including publicly protesting, abortion in their hometowns, praying outside a local abortion clinic and starting up a pro-life club.
"With the new pro-abortion leadership in Congress, we need grass-roots activism more than ever," commented League Director Joe Scheidler, who has participated in the March for Life since the first on held in 1974. "We're not willing to wait for the law to change -- we need to work to stop abortions today, tomorrow and every day."
"Participants in the March for Life care enough about the sanctity of life to travel to Washington and march in the dead of winter," said Eric Scheidler. "We believe they'll be as eager to accept our invitation to get more active in the battle against abortion as we are to help them do it."
The Pro-Life Action League is the nation's largest direct action pro-life organization, founded in 1980 to save babies and their mothers form abortion. For more information on the League or to see the full-color Marching Orders card, visit www.prolifeaction.org.
