Upcoming Conference to Show Pro-Lifers How to Navigate Law
Contact: California ProLife Council, 310-962-1131

SACRAMENTO, Aug. 29, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- The upcoming "Be Normal & Change History!" ProLife Conference is the first of its kind hosted by California ProLife Council and the National Right to Life Committee. The conference will gather high-level leaders of the pro-life movement in Orange, CA with the goal of showing pro-lifers how to change history by using the civic process available to "normal" American citizens.

The conference, to be held on September 13th, hopes to achieve this goal by reflecting upon the success of similar political movements and role of the Right to Life in American society. "The Right to Life is a civil right," said Brian Johnston of the California ProLife Council. "It is essential that individuals understand how the civic process really works, as that is the only way we will change the law and ultimately bring an end to the tragedy that is abortion in America."

Two featured speakers for the event are Carol Tobias, President of National Right to Life, and Father Frank Pavone, President of Priests for Life. Both are national leaders of the pro-life movement and plan to emphasize the role of civics in the actual flow of history. Other speakers include:

Joel Anderson, State Senator - District 36
                    Brad Dacus, Pacific Justice Institute
Brian Johnston, ProLife Author and Advocate
Josh Brahm, Director, Equal Rights Institute
Sara Blicharz, Vice President of California ProLife Council
Mike Spence, City Councilman - West Covina

Topics to be discussed include the legislative path to reversing Roe v. Wade; the importance of a single vote; Churches and Life; and effectively presenting the pro-life message to others.

"If you know pro-lifers who don't bother with the civic process, you need to let them know that their opponents will -- and do -- get involved in effective civics," said Johnston, "Whoever is most effectively involved, wins. That is how history is made."
