ENUMCLAW, Wash., Aug. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- Last year 7.6 million gift shoeboxes were shipped to needy children in 95 countries through Operation Christmas Child. Jim Walker has dedicated his energy and skills to helping this ministry. One of his ventures is his new release, "Kat's Journey," a picture book about a puppy who searches for someone to care for him. The puppy's quest is intertwined with the Christmas story in a way that's sure to touch the hearts of both the child and the reader. Lyrics for Christmas carols and an original song about Kat will make this a favorite for a child ages 2-12. The Spanish/English text gives it broad appeal in many countries around the world.

"Kat's Journey" would be a delightful gift for Sunday school children, backyard Bible clubs, inner-city programs, and other children's ministries. It would also make a wonderful offer for children's radio programs. The picture book can be used in a read-to-a-child setting or for a child who is learning to read by himself.

Author Jim Walker says:

"By encouraging and instilling love into the hearts and minds of young people and by introducing Jesus to them at an early age, if I can help prevent just one abortion, one murder, one criminal act, or one person's accepting Jesus Christ, it will be worth the effort."

Jim Walker retired from a career as a successful business owner to pursue a full-time ministry to children. He travels to churches across America promoting his books and, although not directly connected with the ministry, he also supports and promotes Operation Christmas Child. He has also been involved in promotions through dozens of radio and television appearances.
