BOSTON, May 3, 2012 /Christian Newswire/ -- The following prayer is for Chen Guangcheng's safety amidst persecution for his role in exposing forced abortions and sterilizations in China. It is offered today on the National Day of Prayer by Chai Ling, former Commander-in-Chief of the 1989 Tiananmen Square Student Democracy Movement, and fellow advocate with Chen for women in China. She invites all believers to join her and her All Girls Allowed team to pray for Chen, for China, and for America.

Heavenly Father, we just thank you for your amazing faithfulness and love.  Since the beginning, you have led your children with gentleness and might, putting the right situations, people and events in place for your glory and our good.  You saw Chen Guangcheng during every minute and every second of his arrest and persecution, from 2005 until now.  You were there when he escaped, and you see the hearts of American and Chinese leaders now -- even though they think that they are determining his future, it is YOU who will determine where he stays and where he goes.  We thank you that your Word says, "The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes."  It is clear in Proverbs 21:1 that you are the master and decision maker, the King of Kings, the true party leader.

Again in Daniel 2:20-21, we see your authority: "Daniel answered and said: 'Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, For wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding.'"

You are God!  And you are always good.  This gives us hope not only for this brave activist, Chen, but for the women he is helping in China.  Your timing is perfect.  You have only good in mind.

We thank you for the ways you have shown your power this year to our team at All Girls Allowed.  You have healed a woman who was in a coma for months, and brought her back to health.  You healed another friend's mother from cancer.  You have rescued a small child from the hand of traffickers and have stopped several parents from abandoning their daughters.  You've helped Nie Lina escape from black jail, multiple times!  You helped her break free from forced abortion officials to give birth to a beautiful child.  And you have done so much more.

    Amen.

Please continue to join us in prayer:

  1. Pray for Chen's release, along with his family, to safely leave China.

  2. Pray for a miracle--that God would restore Chen's eyesight and thus bring glory to himself!  For, as Jesus said as evidence to John the Baptist that he was the Messiah: "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight..." (Luke 7:22)

  3. Pray for the people of China to stand up, particularly the Church, in solidarity with Chen and in opposition to the One-Child Policy.  Pray for Jesus' message of Good News and hope to be proclaimed at this time!

  4. Pray that God would raise up leaders from within the Chinese government who will stand for this tragedy no more and take a stand against the treatment of Chen and his family, as well as the treatment of women under the One-Child Policy.
