LOS ANGELES, Jan. 21, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- On February 26-28, 2015, TogetherLA will host a three-day, city-wide conference at West Angeles Church of God in Christ. Key leaders from non-profits, churches, businesses, and communities in the Los Angeles area will convene for real-time collaboration, prayer, networking and strategic partnering.

The central question of the conference is, "What does it mean to love our city?"

From Thursday through Saturday afternoon, ministry practitioners will present interactive sessions that engage the realities of loving our city. Workshops and panel discussions will cover topics such as mercy ministry, systemic injustice, ethnic and class conflict, faith and work, social and culture changes and challenges, church health and church collaborations.

On Saturday evening, Dr. Timothy Keller, Lead Pastor of Manhattan's Redeemer Presbyterian Church, will speak at a free, city-wide gathering to close the conference.

Why Los Angeles?

Keller states that "L.A. is important. L.A. is one of the two or three cultural capitals of the world; one of the two or three cities that most affect what people actually see on their screens and take into their minds and hearts culturally. Of course it is also one of the key cities on the Pacific Rim. It is one of the most important cities in the world."

Dr. Timothy Keller will be the main speaker for the three-day conference as well; all other speakers will be active leaders in the Los Angeles area. Speakers include Bishop Charles Blake, Dr. Barry Corey, Mark Labberton, Mayor Aja Brown, Efrem Smith, Caitlin Crosby, Tim Chaddick, Albert Tate, Larry Acosta, La Verne Tolbert, Michael Mata, Tom Hughes, Father Greg Boyle, and many more.

"Coming together, in Los Angeles," said Keller, "resourcing each other, becoming a learning community – it is a very exciting prospect."
