DENVER, Feb. 12, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- On February 9, 2015, the Renovaré Board of Trustees announced the selection of Christopher Alan Hall as the new president of the ministry. Chris will be installed and begin his tenure on July 1, 2015.

Chris Hall is currently Distinguished Professor of Theology and Director of Academic Spiritual Formation at Eastern University. With a PhD in Theological and Religious Studies from Drew University, a ThM from Regent College, and a MA from Fuller Seminary, Dr. Hall comes to Renovaré eminently poised to lead the organization into the next chapter. A published author, Christianity Today has honored Chris twice with one of their annual book awards. In 1999 Ancient Christian Commentary on Scripture: The Gospel of Mark (co-edited with Thomas Oden) was recognized as one of "the best books published in 1998" and listed as 6 on CT's "top 25" list of best books. In 2013 The Mystery of God: Theology for Knowing the Unknowable (co-authored with Steven Boyer) was awarded book of the year by Christianity Today in the theology and ethics category.

"I am thrilled that Chris Hall is to be the new President for Renovaré. Chris has a wonderful skill set for what we need at this time in our history. More profoundly, his life is a sterling example of the work of spiritual formation into Christlikeness having settled deeply into the very structure of his entire being—body, mind, heart, spirit and soul. I look forward to Chris leading us into a bright and meaningful future for Renovaré." -- Richard J. Foster, Founder of Renovaré

Renovaré Board Chair, Jon Bailey writes, "In Chris Hall, God has provided Renovaré with a President schooled in the way of Christ. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to work alongside him. Chris is an accomplished leader, teacher, writer, and speaker--but more than that he's someone who has been deeply formed by Jesus Christ. I can't think of a person more uniquely qualified to guide Renovaré into this new and exciting season."
