ABILENE, Texas, June 5, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- Sally Gary had a secret. She loved God -- but she liked girls. The experience of trying to reconcile her faith with a growing fear that her same-sex attractions wouldn't disappear -- an experience shared by countless men and women across the country -- caused years of frustration, sadness and heartache. But she also found hope. In Sally's new memoir, "Loves God, Likes Girls," Sally brings to light the experience of living in the tension of resolving her faith with homosexuality, an experience where many are still in the dark.

"Into the contested debates about same-sex attraction enters Sally Gary's haunting, heart-wrenching, and beautiful memoir," says Richard Beck, psychology professor and blogger at experimentaltheology.blogspot.com. "This is a love story that cannot be easily categorized or co-opted in a debate where battle lines have often been aggressively and unhelpfully drawn.... May 'Loves God, Likes Girls' help the church open her heart to the stories aching to be told."

"Loves God, Likes Girls" will be released June 11 by Leafwood Publishers and will be available at Lifeway, Mardel, and independent Christian bookstores around the country.

THE BOOK
