COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Sept. 23 /Christian Newswire/ -- Since its inception in 1913 the Association of Gospel Rescue Missions (AGRM) has been the national voice for workers in the trenches, leading the fight against poverty and homelessness in this country.

The AGRM serves more than 300 national non-profit organizations dedicated to helping the homeless, hungry and addicted.  Every year these missions provide nearly 42 million meals and more than 15 million nights of lodging.  They bandage the emotional wounds of thousands of abuse victims and graduate 18,000-plus individuals from addiction-recovery programs.

"As many as 30 million people in the United States go hungry every day and estimates of homelessness range from 750,000 to 1 million individuals on any given night," says Nicole Daniels, the new National Director of Public Relations for AGRM.

"Approximately 88 million Americans are held captive by addiction to drugs or alcohol. Reports of violence against those living on the streets continue to shock the nation," Daniels states.  "Offering havens of hope for the lost and lonely who call the street their home, we are on the march to change these statistics one life at a time."

AGRM exists to proclaim the passion of Jesus toward the hungry, homeless, abused and addicted. When asked about the decision to hire Daniels as the National Director of Public Relations, AGRM Executive Director John Ashmen said, "Nicole is well suited for this position. I've never been more excited about the future than I am now. Most importantly, Nicole is a follower of Jesus and has essentially grown up in rescue mission work. Her father is currently an AGRM district officer. Nicole knows rescue missions."
