LOS ANGELES, April 29, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- Award-Winning documentary Unclaimed unspools in New York and Los Angeles theaters this Friday. In New York, the film will open at the Quad Cinema, and in LA at The Laemmle Music Hall in Beverly Hills. The film will then continue a national roll-out over the summer. Specialized groups seeking their own hosted screenings, are invited to visit www.movieunclaimed.com for more details.

Could an American MIA be struggling to find his way home? The documentary feature Unclaimed follows a war-torn Vietnam vet and Christian missionary, in his emotional quest to uncover the true identity of a man claiming to be a Special Forces soldier living in a remote village in Vietnam, decades after being listed MIA. Tom, a veteran-turned-missionary after two tours in Vietnam, firmly believes in the military oath, "leave no man behind," and can't turn his back on the man he meets in present-day Vietnam. His determination for the truth, and the philosophy of "no man left unloved" fuels his search for the truth, and his deep religious need for kindness and honesty, illuminate throughout the narrative. His struggle to repatriate the man whom he believes could be a fellow soldier forms a deeply moving and haunting tale of two men whose lives intersect through the burdens of war. Unclaimed offers a compelling reason to revive awareness of the POW/MIA discussion. Directed by Emmy® Award- winning filmmaker Michael Jorgensen.

Unclaimed will begin its LA and NY runs on Friday, May 2nd. In LA, the film will have a full schedule of shows at the Laemmle Music Hall 3 in Beverly Hills.
