CRANE, Mo., Nov. 16, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- You and I are about to be upgraded. According to renowned futurist, Dr. Raymond Kurzweil, scientists will unlock the secret of human immortality within thirty years. If you doubt this, then follow the money. Investors and governments the world over have already funneled billions toward reinventing not only the world, but the human species. But at what cost?

A new film, "Inhuman: The Next and Final Phase of Man is Here," examines the Transhumanist movement, comparing its goals and hoped-for benefits with potential dangers and consequences. Author and former pastor Tom Horn takes viewers along on his journey to understand the desire for Humanity 2.0. Views of leading thinkers on both sides of the issue are presented during the three-hour film, which was five years in the making.

Horn, who says he feels like "the least qualified man in the world" to be considered an expert on Transhumanism, was concerned by the implications of Transhumanism when he first learned of the movement in 2010. "When something sounds too good to be true," Horn says, "It usually is."

In response, Horn penned an "Open Letter to Christian Leaders on Biotechnology and the Future of Man" in September, 2010, an essay that was republished at Wired.com.

Inhuman features influential Transhumanists Dr. James Hughes, Executive Director of the Institute for Ethics and Emerging Technology, Dr. Hugh deGaris, retired director of the Artificial Brain Lab at Xiamen University, and Dr. Natasha Vita-More, Chairman of Humanity+, leading bioethicists Dr. William B. Hurlbut, who served for eight years on the President's Council on Bioethics, and Wesley J. Smith, Senior Fellow at the Discovery Institute's Center on Human Exceptionalism, and Christian authors, analysts, and theologians Chuck Missler, Gary Stearman, Sharon K. Gilbert, Cris Putnam, and Paul McGuire.

Inhuman: The Next and Final Phase of Man is Here is the first release from Defender Films and SkyWatchTV. Video trailers, interviews and more can be viewed online at skywatchtv.com/videos/special-investigative-report-part-4-the-final-phase-of-man-is-here
