FORT WORTH, Texas, Oct. 30, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- Bible League International announces the very first publication of its kind, The Prison Bible, which will be available January of 2014.  With over 10.1 million people in prison around the world, The Prison Bible is designed to address one of the most unreached populations in an innovative, yet simple way.

Co-Author and Bible League Global Publisher John Andersen comments, "We made The Prison Bible specifically for prisoners.  It is a tool which can not only be used by prison ministries on a global scale but by prisoners at whatever spiritual stage they find themselves.  We believe God will raise leaders from among the imprisoned population who will use The Prison Bible to disciple many in an unprecedented way."

Chandlar Fozard, a former prisoner and founder of Hope Prison Ministries testifies to the potency of The Prison Bible. "I became a Christian while incarcerated many years ago.  Today, by the grace of God alone, I am a husband, father and teacher of the truths that continue to change my life.  Would to God that I'd had this Bible as a resource!  I have no doubt we will incorporate The Prison Bible into our prison ministry.  I commend it to the friends and families of offenders, chaplains, volunteers, and especially to those incarcerated."

The Prison Bible
presents Scripture in simple, everyday language inmates can understand using the full Easy-to-Read Version™ Bible.  An integral part of The Prison Bible is its 52 lessons that teach:  "God Loves You," "Following Jesus Inside of Prison," "Relating to People in Authority," "Preparing for Release" and more.  The Prison Bible also provides the inmate with useful tools such as a goal setting chart, Scripture helps for dealing with negative emotions, and an address book for family and friends.  The Prison Bible can be ordered at Bible League International's online bookstore:  store.bibleleague.org.

Celebrating 75 years of Christian nonprofit service, Bible League International's mission of planting God's Word so people meet Jesus continues to break new ground.  The Prison Bible is the reformative publication that will help prison ministries reach inmates around the world.

Donations to provide Bibles to the unreached can be made through Bible League International's website: bibleleague.org/donate.
