NEW YORK, Dec. 16 /Christian Newswire/ -- Just back from the COP-15 meeting in Copenhagen, Reverend Richard Cizik, founder of the New Evangelicals is continuing to push for climate justice. At a White House holiday reception this week, he delivered a personal request to President Obama, who will attend the climate conference on Thursday, to lead the way toward resolving the impasse between the developed world and the developing one over adaptation funding. Cizik provides details in a video on "Faith at the Summit," at www.odysseynetworks.org. Reporting from just outside the White House gates, Cizik shares the President's response to his request. Obama, he says, stated that he needs the help of America's religious leaders in the push for climate justice and recognizes the role that faith communities play in assuring the long-term viability of the planet.

Odyssey Networks has been following the activities of faith leaders at the Copenhagen summit since December 7.  The Cizik White House report and other videos are at www.odysseynetworks.org

Cizik, former VP for Governmental Affairs of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE), is the founder of the New Evangelicals, whose mission is to spread awareness of climate change among evangelicals and to promote a form of environmentalism known as "creation care."
