Christian Investment Newsletter in Top Ten at 3 Year Point

Contact: Major Richard Williams, 716-938-6623

SALAMANCA, N.Y., May 14, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Christian Value Investor newsletter published by Faithful Servant LLC reached its third year of tracking by Hulbert Financial Digest on May 1, 2013. Its portfolios' gains earned top-10 ranking from MarketWatch's Hulbert Interactive database. The Christian Value Investor (www.TCVI-24-7.com) had a three-year annualized gain of 15.76% vs. 12.69% for the Wilshire 5000 Stock Index. For the 12-month period ending April 30, TCVI's performance was also in the top-10 with a gain of 24.13% vs. 16.97% for the Wilshire 5000. For both periods TCVI's Sharpe Ratio (a measure of risk, with a higher number signifying lower risk) was higher than the Wilshire 5000. "We are very enthusiastic about TCVI's results, and honored to have our newsletters tracked by Hulbert Financial Digest," said Mick Williams, TCVI's author and a co-founder of Faithful Servant LLC.

According to Williams, The Christian Value Investor grew out of his 2008 MBA Thesis, "Value Investing's Challenge to the Efficient Market Hypothesis from Benjamin Graham to Seth Klarman," and the capstone project of an entrepreneurship class. He became convinced of the potential of his project's business model: a distinctively Christian investment newsletter that embraced the value investing principles first taught by Benjamin Graham, Warren Buffett's professor and early employer, and which scrupulously avoided "sin stocks" (tobacco and alcohol manufacturing, casino gambling, etc.). After getting his MBA while working as a college reference librarian, he co-founded Faithful Servant LLC along with his father, Richard Williams, a retired Air Force officer.

Hulbert Interactive tracks over 200 Newsletters and ranks them monthly by their year-to-date and 1, 3, 5, 10, 15, and 20 year performance as applicable. His father noted "Mick can be very proud of his stock-picking ability, having achieved top-10 ranking in eleven of the last 18 months for the prior 12-month moving window, and now having earned top-10 status in the first month his newsletter had been tracked for three full years. Along with The Christian Value Investor, our three other publications that focus on the Utility, Transportation and Energy sectors of the market have also done well and our goal is for them to do so well that we'll gain subscribers from those who care what their investment is doing, not just what it earns."
