Local Gun Forums Offered

Contact: Craig Cable, Lifetree Café, 970-292-4697

LOVELAND, Colo., Feb. 28, 2013 /Christian Newswire/ -- The topic of gun control will be explored at Lifetree Café community forums from coast to coast during the week of March 10, 2013.

The Lifetree event, titled "Inside the Gun Debate: To hunt? To defend? To assault?" features filmed interviews with Tom Mauser, whose son died at Columbine High School, and Michael Lang, a concealed weapon firearms instructor.

According to Lang, "Concealed carry isn't about grocery store robberies or being the hero, it's about being able to defend yourself wherever and whenever the need arises."

Mauser said, "We have the easiest access to weapons in all of the free world, the weakest gun laws in the world, and also the highest gun death rate in the world. How do we question ourselves if we're really safer?"

Lifetree representative Craig Cable said participants will have the opportunity to hear various viewpoints and to offer their own. "We're providing a community forum where people on both sides of the issue can have a civil conversation and find some common ground," Cable said.

This Lifetree program is being offered at Lifetree Café locations across the country as a means to inform citizens and find answers to the questions surrounding gun issues, Cable said.

Lifetree Café is a national network of venues where people gather for conversation about life and faith in a casual coffeehouse-type setting.
