LOS ANGELES, Sept. 10 /Christian Newswire/ -- Urban music video producer Flip Webster, producer Andrew Collins, actor /director Mark Anthony Williams and director of photography Rafael Gomez-Rivera have brought forth an original programme for the Christian Community titled "CALVERY XP".
The title in its spelling is as familiar and original as the theme of the programme. Flip Webster said "we were attempting to create a very spiritual project that had the same handles as the secular projects that dominate the cable and internet every day with a twist that gave the focus to God."
Webster believes that his production team has accomplished this by creating the town of "Mt. Calvery, Anywhere -USA" Calvery the place is defined by Webster as "sort of a Heat of the Night - Sparta, Ga.", a church in the center of the town with a congregation of about 2000 people that allows us to present many types of worshippers of all sections of Christian disciplines and practices all under the same roof. Our programming is modern in the ways of CSI or LAW and ORDER where we take mainstream topical issues and write parodies based on a central theme that speaks directly from the bible on the issue that our writing team has the task to tackle. This being the writing of Mark Anthony Williams and Flip Webster. Mark Anthony Williams was nominated for his stage performances in 2001 by the NAACP , while Webster has been nominated twice for music videos by billboard's music video awards . Mr. Williams can actually be viewed on the CALVERY XP Teaser that has been seen on Godtube.com at http://www.godtube.com/calveryxp and www.YOUTUBE.com as Cooper the police office in the episode HEAVEN'S GATE.
New to the group is Mr. Rafael Gomez although not new to the industry Mr. Gomez has voiced his shared reason for wanting to participate in CALVERY XP as being able to use his God given talents of videography as an offering back to God. "After years of production shoots its good to produce something that you can actually share with your children and family." says Gomez a 20 year production veteran.
When asked what the letters "XP" stood for Webster commented "in the days of Constantine the actual spelling of CHRIST was XP - so we decided to call it CALVERY XP because not only does it place the name of God in the title but it sets up the themes of the show as being modern as Microsoft's windows XP - who knows maybe Bill Gates knows something?"
Productions of CALVERY XP are preproduction and principle filming starts 2009 for spring placement for DVD, CABLE, Streaming Video and a concert tour being planned by the Rev. Alexander Hamilton noted producer of Aretha Franklin's "AMEN" album.
