Planned Parenthood Runs for Cover

Contact: Bethany Burrell, National Personhood Alliance, 770-339-6880

NOCROSS, Ga., Aug. 11, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- Today, National Personhood Alliance (NPA) President Molly Smith accused Planned Parenthood of a desperate attempt to further hide the truth about abortion.

"At first they tried to gloss over the reality of abortion by calling themselves 'pro-choice,'" Smith said. "Cynically, they've now moved to promoting 'women's health' to describe their gruesome business."

Janet Colm, President of the Planned Parenthood Action Fund of North Carolina, was recently quoted saying: "The labels we've always used about pro-choice and pro-life--they're outdated, and they don't mean anything."

Smith called the shift beyond deceptive. "Trying to say killing an innocent child supports women's health is repulsive," Smith said. "It just shows how desperate the world's largest abortion provider has become."

At the same time, Planned Parenthood President, Cecile Richards tried to compare abortion to routine medical procedures for men.

Appearing on PBS with Bill Moyers, Richards suggested it would be "incredible" if men faced protestors telling them not to get a colonoscopy.

"What's incredible," Smith said, "is their effort to further disguise this unthinkable, brutal practice in the hopes that people will have no idea what abortion really involves."

Smith added that playing word games is also a blatant attempt by the world's largest abortion provider to help protect its primary mission--making money by shedding innocent blood.
