ARDEN, NC, May 12 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City recently sold scratch off tickets to The Black Party which was held on March 21-22. The tickets mocked the Bible by featuring a man holding an apple. The tickets said, "BECOME ONE of 10 INSTANT SINNERS!"

Blogger Michael Musto attended The Black Party and wrote about the event for the Village Voice: "I arrive and notice that there are a few hundred less people there, but the ones left are pretty much all having sex." Musto adds, "The place was LITTERED with enough condom wrappers and lube packets to wallpaper Yankees Stadium."

Who is the The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center?

The Center is one of the gay rights movement's most effective organizations. In 1983 the Center took over a former school and began offering the use of its facility to outside groups. According to its website, "AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP), Queer Nation, Lesbian Avengers and the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), were born at the Center."

Maybe we should follow the money.

The Center relies on government grants to fund much of its programs and agenda. In 2007 the Center received $2,433,464 in government grants.

The Center's board of directors is a politically active group. Individual board members contributed thousands of dollars to Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton for the 2008 presidential race.

The Center is also a prominent promoter of gay marriage. On March 25, three days after The Black Party, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg endorsed a gay marriage bill at the Center Dinner - an annual fundraiser. Last year the dinner raised more than $500,000.

If this story becomes well known, the New York taxpayers could demand that The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center be defunded. New Yorkers could even ask the President to oppose grants to the Center? After all, on April 20th President Obama asked his cabinet to look for ways to cut government spending.
