BEND, Ore., Dec. 16, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- JOURNEY is an unusual church in Bend, Oregon. They meet under a night club in downtown Bend. Although the church is under 2 years old, they are doing some incredible things. In just two weeks the church gave over $5,000 to an "unknown" offering. This Sunday (Dec. 18), the church will give back all of that money to the people to spend on others!

The pastor, Keith Kirkpatrick, hopes this will demonstrate to the people, "You are the church." Kirkpatrick said, "When Jesus came to earth, he gave the ultimate gift, himself. We want to unleash that same kind of generosity."

This Sunday people will literally receive an offering, instead of giving one. Each person will be handed cash to spend on other people. Even the kids will be given cash to spend on others. JOURNEY CHURCH hopes this will be a spark that will change how we see Christmas and the church. It's not about what we receive, it's about what we give.
