GREEN BAY, Wis., and ST. PAUL, Minn., Dec. 24, 2015 /Christian Newswire/ -- The special continued featuring of Minnesota Musicians highlight Twin Cities' Michael Loonan's "We Three Kings" and Richard Schletty's "Duerme, Niño, Duerme" at the Franciscan Sisters News Page fscc-calledtobe.org.

Of Michael Loonan's reflective version of "We Three Kings," Sr. Marsaia Kastner, OSF commented "The violin and piano intertwine and imitate the glory, majesty, and somberness of the lyrics which speak of bringing gifts of gold for the King; frankincense for the Deity, and myrrh for the One who will become a sacrifice for us. In conclusion the violin and piano expand into a true duet with each instrument using intricate, lovely melodies and harmony to show forth the wonder and beauty of the Babe born to be our Light!"

Musician, Songwriter and Producer Michael Loonan's church group (Spiritu) has released two CDs, Spiritu and Good News. www.michaelloonan.com

Songwriter Richard Schletty reflected on the origins of "Duerme, Niño, Duerme." "My brother, Christopher Schletty, dreamt this song c. 2002. After keeping the song to himself for a couple years, Chris told me about his dream. He recorded one minute of a cappella singing and sent me an MP3 file. I took it from there. I wrote a bridge between verse 2 and 3. André van Haren came up with the beautiful orchestration you hear in this CD release version.

"We have never found evidence that this song existed before Chris dreamt it. We thought maybe it was a song remembered from his past. We can only conclude that it was a simple gift from above."

Richard is a board member of the Minnesota Association of Songwriters and the Catholic Association of Music. He also administers TopCatholicSongs.com. More info about Richard at www.reverbnation.com/richardschletty.
