MEDIA ADVISORY, Feb. 5 /Christian Newswire/ -- "We started the listening program for the second time on Jan. 6," said Pastor Bryan Hackett from Edgewood Believers Fellowship. "Our last day of listening is Valentine's Day, so we are looking at this project as if we're reading our 'Letter of Love from Dad'," he said.

New listeners commented that the audio drama format brought clarity to their time in the Bible.

"The dramatized version helped me hear things that I have missed while reading God's Word," said one New Hope Northwood church-goer.

"Hearing the Bible brought out portions that have not clearly stood out as I read God's Word before," echoed another listener.

Testimonies like these are coming in from area churches that are taking part in the You've Got The Time Albuquerque campaign, a volunteer Bible listening initiative coordinated by Faith Comes By Hearing, the world's leading Audio Bible ministry.

In January alone, Faith Comes By Hearing distributed more than 16,000 Audio Bibles to area churches. In fact, 52 area churches distributed more than 12,900 Audio Bibles in MP3 format to their congregations, challenging them to listen through the New Testament in only 40 days. An additional 3,500 people downloaded their free New Testament from the ministry's website, www.FaithComesByHearing.com.

Throughout 2008, church leaders from at least 55 different denominations will distribute free Audio New Testaments and Kidz Bibles to every man, woman and child in their congregations. Leaders will challenge their congregations to listen to the entire New Testament by investing 28 minutes a day for 40 days. Participating churches will then receive offerings for Faith Comes By Hearing's international Bible recordings and programs, which bring God's Word to poor and illiterate people around the world.

Worshippers at Edgewood Believers Fellowship will listen through the New Testament again for the second time in less than six months. Many attendees there actually listened through the New Testament last fall. This time, church leadership gave away 40 Audio New Testaments and 20 Kidz Bibles, and despite the congregation's recent participation, Hackett said Audio Bible listening is making a great difference.

"The listening project is having a unifying effect on the congregation," he said. "People who did the listening before are more involved and excited now."

Hackett encouraged other pastors to get their church involved and said that anyone considering this project would find it worth their time.

In addition to the New Testament giveaways at churches, Faith Comes By Hearing is also offering free Audio New Testament downloads at their website, FaithComesByHearing.com. Visitors can choose from one of 10 English versions or from 278 other languages.
