Contact: Sean Finnegan, 703-863-3843

FAIRFAX, Va., April 28, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- Anteroom Pictures is proud to announce that Out of the Darkness will screen at World Youth Day in Madrid, Spain (August 15 - 21, 2011). Out of the Darkness will join other cinema, theater and art exhibits as part of the Cultural Program during the week long World Youth Day festivities.

Out of the Darkness is the groundbreaking documentary that puts a face on pornography and challenges the prevailing assumption that pornography is a harmless and victimless hobby. Centered around the incredible story of Shelley Lubben, a former porn star who traded her life in pornography for a life in Christ, Out of the Darkness is able to tell a human story as it relates to pornography in light of a cultural, historical and spiritual context.

Audiences of all ages, but especially young adults, have responded strongly to Out of the Darkness since its award winning release at the John Paul II International Film Festival in Miami (February, 2011). "We are very excited to show our film at World Youth Day" said Sean Finnegan, Out of the Darkness creator and director. "It's a great opportunity to reach a wide, international youth audience hungry for the films message of hope and love" he added.

"The cultural program is one of the main pillars of WYD, second only to the acts with the Pope and the Catechesis Sessions." said Carla Diez de Rivera, Technical Director of the Department of Culture at WYD. "All these activities are an example of Christian cultural wealth in its most universal display," she added.
