UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., April 1 /Christian Newswire/ -- Vivendi Entertainment and Possibility Pictures hosted the world premiere event of LETTERS TO GOD last night in Orlando, Florida, returning to where the film was shot.
The red carpet event was attended by director David Nixon, best known as one of the producers of FIREPROOF and FACING THE GIANTS and co-director and writer Patrick Doughtie as well as co-stars Robyn Lively (THE KARATE KID PART III, WILDCATS), Jeffrey S.S. Johnson (HELTER SKELTER, A COAT OF SNOW), Tanner Maguire (SAVING SARAH CAIN, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER), Bailee Madison (BROTHERS, the upcoming DON'T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK and the Adam Sandler/ Jennifer Aniston starrer JUST GO WITH IT), Maree Cheatham (MR. & MRS. SMITH, BEETLEJUICE), Michael Christopher Bolten (HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, THE WOODS HAVE EYES) and soundtrack artists Aaron Barnhardt, Ryan Kirkland and Anna Marie Boskovitch (former American Idol contestant).
Vivendi President Tom O'Malley joined Possibility Pictures principals Nixon, producer Kim Dawson and executive producer Tom Swanson to celebrate the film's triumphant debut on the big screen. O'Malley commented, "We are thrilled that the response from the public has been so strong. It has motivated the Exhibition community to show their support by making LETTERS TO GOD the widest release of any faith film, second only to PASSION OF THE CHRIST."
Said Nixon, "This has been a wonderful experience for me personally and a truly blessed project to launch our new film venture, Possibility Pictures. To see how a simple story can touch your heart, and affect millions of lives is truly moving and has always been my hope for the movie."
A heartfelt tale of inspiration, hope and redemption, LETTERS TO GOD is the story of what happens when one boy's walk of faith crosses paths with one man's search for meaning--the resulting transformational journey touches the lives of everyone around them.
Not since 2004's PASSION OF THE CHRIST has another Christian film received such a wide release. LETTERS TO GOD opens nationwide on April 9, 2010.
