4 WINDS: The Floodgates of Immorality Coming into Sports
Contact: 4 WINDS, 608-469-7956

MADISON, Wis., May 12, 2014 /Christian Newswire/ -- The floodgates of immorality have increased dramatically in sports. An NFL team has drafted an open homosexual player, the USA Olympic Committee is promoting homosexuality, and Nike is funding a gay marriage political action committee (PAC) in Oregon.

The St. Louis Rams selected Michael Sam in the seventh round of the NFL draft. After being selected, Sam kissed his gay lover on ESPN in celebration.

Before the 2014 Sochi Olympics, the US Olympic Committee passed a non-discrimination policy to promote homosexuality. During the Games, President Obama sent a delegation of former athletes to Sochi who were gay.

In the fall of 2013, Nike founded a PAC to promote gay marriage in Oregon. The PAC was launched with $280,000.

Nike has supported homosexual causes in the past. They were instrumental in supporting Oregon's domestic partnership law. Nike filed a "friend of the court" brief urging the Supreme Court to force the federal government to recognize gay marriage.

Additionally, Nike gives preference to homosexual suppliers. They give spousal benefits and adoption assistance to homosexual employees. Plus, they cover sex-change operations.

"There has always been sinners in sports as sports is a reflection of society. However, the floodgates of immorality have dramatically increased over the last few years," says 4 WINDS President Steve McConkey. "Sports people throughout the world are caving into the homosexual agenda."

4 WINDS is a Christian ministry working with all sports. The ministry used to work with track and field athletes only, but recently changed to all sports.

Steve McConkey and his wife started in world-class track and field ministries in 1981 and has continued for a total of thirty-three years. 4 WINDS has not abandoned track and field, but has expanded to all sports.

4 WINDS encourages Christian athletes and coaches to draw closer to the Lord by working with churches that teach the Bible clearly.

Parents should ask questions while their kids are being recruited to universities. Many universities are promoting open homosexual programs in their athletic departments. One such program is called "You Can Play."

Steve McConkey is the President of 4 WINDS. Steve and his wife started working in world-class track and field ministries in 1981. 4 WINDS expanded to all sports in 2014. Steve has a Masters of Public Health from Western Kentucky University and a BS-Public Health from Minnesota State University.
