NEW YORK, March 8, 2011 /Christian Newswire/ -- The Cathedral of St. Patrick Young Adults are pleased to announce a unique Lenten event for Catholic young adults in the city of New York.

"THE GOSPEL IN ART AT THE MET" will take place on Saturday April 2, 2011 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art from 12pm-2pm. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is located at 1000 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY.

The Gospel in Art will incorporate a tour of religious works of art at the Metropolitan Museum. While touring these masterpieces, Catholic young adults will also be led in a Lenten reflection, given by Br Eric Wandrey, LC, who is the founder of this ministry. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about these paintings, but to also learn more about their faith.

"New York City has so much to offer us in terms of art and culture. through these instruments, one can also find God and experience Him in a profound way. That is why this event is so important to Catholic young adults: it invites them to appreciate this culture but also to deepen their relationship with God," says Br. Eric Wandrey, LC.

Mario Bruschi, director of the Cathedral of St. Patrick Young Adults, added, "We are very happy that Br Eric Wandrey is giving us this Lenten recollection. He has given us great presentations in the past and we are thrilled that we can take this presentation to one of the most prominent museums in the world."
