Pastor Brunson, who has been imprisoned for over two years in Turkey for his Christian faith, faces up to 30 years in prison if he is convicted of false and unjust charges of terrorism by the Turkish government.

Pastor Brunson and his family have lovingly and peacefully served the people of Turkey for 23 years by sharing the heart of Christ with this wonderful nation.

Rev. Patrick Mahoney, organizer of the vigil and Director of the Christian Defense Coalition states:

"Hebrews 13:3 says; 'Continue to remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.'

"We are gathering at the Embassy of Turkey to pray for the immediate release of Pastor Andrew Brunson who has been unjustly imprisoned in Turkey for his Christian faith. We will also be calling for Turkey to ensure religious freedom and human rights for all and end the persecution and intimidation of Christians and other religious minorities.

"It is important for the faith community to stand in solidarity with all those who are being persecuted and attacked for their Christian beliefs and continue to be a loud and prophetic public voice for justice and religious freedom. We cannot rest or be silent until Pastor Brunson is released and able to freely worship God according the dictates of his conscience."
