/ -- The Virginia Homeschool Convention, one of the largest homeschool events in the country, is celebrating 35 years of service. The 2018 convention will feature Sam Sorbo, author, speaker, actor, and radio star known for her role on the television series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and for the syndicated radio program, The Sam Sorbo Show. Other keynotes include John Stonestreet of the Colson Center prison ministry and Breakpoint Radio, and Voddie Baucham of Baucham Ministries.
A robotics expo, storytelling, and live parrots (plus 160 exhibitors!) are part of the "Homeschool Marketplace"—125,000 square feet of books, puzzles, new and used curricula, CDs, DVDs, games, and exhibits available for attendees of all ages.
The third annual College & Career Fair welcomes representatives from 44 colleges and businesses as they recruit homeschool students. Participating colleges include James Madison University, Liberty University, Radford University, Virginia Tech, Old Dominion University, the United States Naval Academy, and Virginia Commonwealth University, among others.
